As you may be aware the Scout and Explorer sections have organised and arranged funding for 3 camps at various locations around Scotland to help promote the Explorer Section and to aid the transfer of Scouts into the Explorer section.

The 3 events are:

• Auchengillan – 1st – 3rd Feb
• Fordell Firs – 15th -17th Feb
• Templars Park – 22nd -24th Feb.

The cost for the Young people aged 13 / 14 is £10 and that covers a fully programmed, fully catered weekend. We have funding for up to 200 people at each event and the camp sites are providing all of the activities. We have catering teams arranged to cover that side of the camp and SHQ is doing all the paperwork and dealing with the financial sides of the event.

So, where do you come in?

Well, it make these events worthwhile you will need to be involved!!!

It is intended that the local ARC’s in each patch will, along with their DESC’s, ESL’s, etc, provide the support and staffing for the rest of the camp programme to allow the Scouts to see what Explorer Scouting in that patch is all about and to give them an opportunity to meet the people who run Explorer Scouting locally. The local ARC's have all been alerted to this and by now will be starting to recruit their local Explorer teams to help with fine tuning of the programme, staffing, etc..

Sorry to post this at this time but we have only just got final agreement that this is a development issue and so using the ARC’s prior to their official appointments was ok.
