The first of the 3 National Activ8 camps was held this weekend (1st - 3rd February) at Auchengillan on the outskirts of Glasgow.
Almost 100 people took part in the event aimed at encouraging the transfer of Scouts into the Explorer Scout section.

Amid sleet, snow, rain and temperatures below freezing all weekend the participants camped and took part in a range of activities including abseiling, fencing, pedal karting, climbing, paradrop, team building, and create climbing as well as quizzes and an incident hike. All the teams were headed up by Young Leaders from the Explorers, providing support, encouragement and also explaining what the section is all about and why they might wish to join.
The weekend was voted a massive success with the Scouts really keen on what Explorer Scouting has to offer and now there is no question that these Young People will be making their way into the section in the very near future!
Well done to everyone involved and if you want to see some picture from the weekend click HERE to vist the gallery. (This will be updated until we have everyones photos on it)
