UPDATE: Unfortunately due to a lack of entries Explore! Explore! Explore!!, the Scottish National Explorer Scout Competition has had to be cancelled.
The cost of the weekend is £108 per team including Saturday night dinner and all activity costs and is sponsered by Blacks of Greenock who have donated a Nijer Patrol tent and other smaller tents as prizes.
Like previous years, the idea of the event is to provide an opportunity for each Scout District to enter teams of 6 Explorers to participate in a two night / three day event to demonstrate their camping / scouting skills competing to win the Andy Matthew Trophy.
It is a fully programmed weekend of activity and competition being run from Everton Scout campsite ne Inverkip. The camp will have a range of activities, challenges and ‘daftness’ over the weekend, including a challange hike, cooking, scouting skills, team games and a disco, to name but a few...
The event will contain a large fun element, with the competition ending after dinner on the Saturday and restarting on the Sunday morning, allowing the teams to let their hair down and relax as only Explorers can!
The competition will then start again on the Sunday, finishing at 3.00pm with the presentation of the Andy Matthew Trophy.The camp is under canvas (i.e. in tents) and is based round the idea of a lightweight camp, and so teams should plan to be able to carry all the equipment they bring with them in 1 lift.

Planning is complete and the organisers hope that every District can be represented as we try to discover the best Explorer Unit in Scotland.
