Every April, Queen's Scouts from around the UK have the opportunity to take part in the St George's Day parade at Windsor castle. It is a fantastic day that should not be missed!

Des Harris, who organises and leads the parade, is looking for people to be in the colour party, lead the sections of Queen's Scouts or to prepare and lead the service in St Georges chapel.

He is scouring the country looking for suitable volunteers and we hope you may be some of them!  More info about all of these roles can be found by clicking on the links below:

Des is keen to come to Scotland to meet with anyone who is interested in trying out for selection and is waiting to hear from interested Scouts.  He will then arrange a location that best suits the majority.

He is very keen to have representation from north of the border - Scots traditionally are the best dressed and often the best marching section so let's keep up this reputation!

The selection day itself is a lot of fun. You do not have to have any experience in marching or leading a section. Des will teach you all you need to know on the day and select people who show enough potential! The real training will take place in Windsor early next year.

For those interested in being a reader, and helping organise the day, you should be prepared to read in front of an audience.

For those lucky enough to be selected all expenses will be paid for your travel and accommodation for the practice weekend in March and the parade weekend itself.

There will not be any expenses available for travel to the selection day and that is why Des is keen to arrange a local venue to suit.

Take a minute to look at the information and see if you'd be interested in this great opportunity. Please pass this info onto any other Explorer Scouts, Network members or leaders.
