The Event:

Auchengillan Jamboree 2009 is an International camp for members of the Scout and Guide movements. We aim to build on the success of AJ03 by bringing young people together from all over the world for a week of fun, friendship and outdoor activities.

Where to begin...

There will be Hill Walking, Sailing, Canoeing, Kayaking, Rock Climbing, Team Sports, Trips, Hover Crafting, Swimming, Extreme Survival, Mountain Bivouacking, Crafts, Individual Sports, Para Drop, Quad Biking, Mountain Biking, Roller Hockey, Orienteering, Geo-Caching, Land Yachting, Go Karts, Video Making, Backwoods, Abseiling, Grass Sledging, Crate Climbing, Shooting, Pioneering, Karaoke, Discos, Gunge Tank, Parties, Ceilidh, Inflatables, Campfires, Ariel Runways, 24Hr Expeditions, Explorer Trek, Abseiling, Archery, Circus Skills, Fencing, Gyro Karts to name just a few

The Date:

1 – 8 August 2009. Any groups wishing to arrive or depart from Auchengillan Outdoor Centre earlier or later will need to make arrangements directly with the Centre.

The Location

Auchengillan is a well established 50 hectare International Outdoor Centre in Stirlingshire. It is lightly wooded and set amongst farmland with panoramic views of the surrounding hills and lochs, including Loch Lomond and yet is only a few miles from the centre of Glasgow. Who can attend:

Members of the Scout and Guide Associations who are between the ages of 11 and 18 years on 8 August 2009 old can attend the camp as youth participants. Any children under this age will be the sole responsibility of the Group Leaders. Those members of Scouting and Guiding who are over 18 years old may apply to attend as Group Leaders or are invited to apply for a place on the staff team for the camp, details of which are available by visiting the staff pages.

How to book:

Download a booking form which should be completed and returned to the organisers with a deposit. Bookings will be accepted on a first-come first-served basis - so it is advised to book early!

Facilities:

We intend to provide facilities for banking, a post office, a tuck and souvenir shop, Scout Shop, coffee bar, first aid, Leader's Club, International Centre and 24hr security. Arrangements will be made to transport Group Leaders to a local supermarket on a daily basis to buy food and provisions.

AJ09 BadgeThe Cost

Youth members between the ages of 11 to 18 years old will be charged £125 for the camp. This cost will cover all activities and site fees for Auchengillan. Groups will be camping and self catering and the provision of all equipment for Groups such as tents, stoves, gas, cooking utensils and food is the responsibility of each individual Group. Leaders will be charged £80 per person, but they are not guaranteed any activities. Any Leader bringing their children (those under 11) with them will be charged £50 per child. Whilst no guarantee of activities is made for children of Leaders, a crèche facility will be available.
