Even More to Explore

‘Even More 2 Explore’ is the Scottish National Explorer Scout Camping Competition.

It is a fully programmed weekend of activity and competition being run from Bonaly Scout campsite in Edinburgh.The camp will have a range of activities, challenges and ‘daftness’ over the weekend, including football, karaoke, disco, volleyball, cooking,  scouting skills, scanvenger hunt round Edinburgh and surprise challenges…

The camp will start on the Friday evening, with the competition running through till Saturday dinner, when the competition stops and the party starts!

The competition will then start again on the Sunday, finishing at 3.00pm with the presentation of the Andy Matthew Trophy.The camp is under canvas (i.e. in tents) and is based round the idea of a lightweight camp, and so teams should plan to be able to carry all the equipment they bring with them in 1 lift.

Dinner on the Saturday will be provided, but Units will be expected to cater for themselves the rest of the weekend, with enough extra food to allow the judges to taste.

This will be the third Scottish Explorer Scout Camping Contest, and we want to build on previous years successes with an even better turn out.  This time we want as many Explorer units as possible to apply to come.The cost for the event is £108 per team.  This includes Saturday Dinner, but all other food and travel are not included.
